the one that built a home for education

TRAVELERS INSURANCE

Travelers was one of our clients that we had on retainer at Publicis.Sapient, which meant that I was involved in a number of enhancements to their website. Two particularly interesting projects were OpenHouse and the content architecture for Home Central.

OpenHouse was a partnership with BuildFax. The basic premise was that prospective home buyers could enter an address to view a history of permitted updates and repairs. I helped create the microsite that hosted the search functionality and crafted the value proposition of the tool. I also worked on shaping the templates that supported the experience.

For the Home Central project, Travelers had a wealth of content focused on preparing for and preventing home insurance claims. I helped organize and redesign this content by topic—such as buying and selling, moving, and renovating. I identified key articles to feature, added estimated reading times, and introduced expand/collapse modules to make it easier for users to browse and access additional resources.

Insurance can be confusing. Through my own initial naïveté, I learned how to simplify complex topics and make insurance education more digestible.
